Colonia High School Reviews

I currently attend Colonia High School. I believe that it is a great school. They need to work on their discipline though.

As current student I find that the school does not determine how the student is educated, but more so the willingness of the student. The teacher's in Colonia High School range from inspiring and genius to careless and are only there to make money. The Theater and Music Department is sensational and always impresses an audience. Overall Colonia High School is not a bad school, it just needs a bit of fine tuning and discipline.

Colonia has some of the most inspiring and passionate teachers who really care about the student's well-being and how they fare in school. The school boasts many extra-curriculars to take advantage of and help is always offered if needed. Although our school may not be in the best shape, it is a great learning environment if a student puts in the effort and has the right attitude. Being in the best communications school in the country must mean that the school is doing something right.

Wonderful school - my kids loved it.

The quality of academic programs, well there should be more. The sports program is covoured well,I'm not sure about how the arts and music program is doing.

As a current student here at CHS there are many great things, but the school neads improvement. There are teachers that care and help the students but there are teachers who are very lax and look the other way for certain students. The extracurricular activites are very good and there are alot of them. Some of them are interact which helps out the community, step team performs in competitions and school performences, choir and band which are excellent, and there is African-American History and Asian Clubs. Our school is currently in poor condition, but there will be improvements since the referendum passed like an addition, roof improvements, and renovate bathrooms. The principal does have much discipline and needs to improve though. Finally the curriculom is pretty good.

As a CHS Alum and current student at an ivy league institution, I'd say that the school is really 'what you make of it.' Sure, the facility is a little rough around the edges...leaks, heating problems, etc. But those who choose to become involved and take advantage of the available resources will find their high school experience to be a truly rewarding one. As a side note, there are a few exceptional teachers, talented and passionate, the 'above and beyond' type, who really do enhance the academic life of the fortunate student.

Although Colonia High School can be dirty and the discipline is not very affective, it is a great school. I attended that school for 2 years and its a very good school.

Colonia High is one of the best hight school's in NJ, the teachers and students are great, the worst thing about Colonia High is the guidence, but otherwise the school is a wonderful place to learn.

This is a stunning school which takes the educational, moral, and emotional development of its students seriously. Students who avail themselves of all C.H.S. has to offer will have a very rich experience. The administration is top-notch.

I am a former student of Colonia High School. My overall opinion of the school is that it is too laid back and students get away with a lot there. The discipline is not very good or effective. It is definetly overcrowded also. Many of the teachers are too easy with the way they grade also, letting students do poorly while giving them grades to pass. A plus is that they do have a lot of good extra curricular actitities.

Colonia High School is extremely overcrowded and dirty. Water floods the classrooms during storms and snows blows in through the broken windows at times. There are too many kids in each class and not enough rooms to put them in. Half the lockers in the school don't work and every year it becomes more and more dangerous. The teaching methods are ineffective and the school lacks discipline.
