Before coming to Sundance, my son struggled with ADD, and was really starting to fall behind his classmates. Once I arrived, the teachers really embraced him. I've never seen my son so excited to come back to school every day. In fact, the only thing he ever complains about is he hates it when he has vacation. They emphasize alot of non-academic stuff. Classes within their labels are each different. They do not offer the same curriculum. Small class size, 1-6 Teacher/ Student ratio has allowed him to develop academically at his own pace. The academic program continues to change to meet the needs of the students. This year is the first year 1 grade students are introduced to a musical instrument. Students math skills and reading skills will be enhanced. My son started in pre-K and coming from a daycare the experience has been wonderful. He used to be angry before he came here and now he is a happy child. He is exposed to more quality of programs (academic, music, and art)and a wonderful caring staff. He loves the school. He had a fine motor delay and has done great things here since he has been using his hands to draw, etc. The attention he receives is outstanding. When they say it is a 6:1 ratio for the kindergarten class it is really true. They really focus on your child. A truly wonderful experience too bad the school doesn't go beyond 4th grade. We pulled our child out of another (private) NJ school midyear and were amazed at the compassion and consideration given to our child during the transition. The teaching staff is awesome and made my husband and I feel as though we are part of a team all working together to meet our childs academic needs. The children are kept moving throughout the day to art, gym, math, reading/writing, stage, computers, cooking and recess. After school activities are also offered. With the individual attention our child is offered for math and reading/writing we intend to remain at Sundance as long as possible. The academic program is wonderful and includes reading, math ,history , science ,art , computers , and Spanish for children at a very young age . The school teaches children to think creatively and use their imagination as well as provides them with a love of learning and a jump-start on reading and math in preschool. They have their own parents' association which welcomes parent involvement and also provides additional educational activities . She has developed a great sense of self confidence and wonderful social skills. The teachers are responsive and truly seem to care about the growth of each child. Most importantly, she loves attending school and is devastated when it is not in session. She takes ballet after school and enjoys the performing arts program which is included during the day. I have two younger children who will absolutely attend Sundance. Children attending Sundance learn to Love school and respect diversity. This is a very special place. She would cry on weekends to go to school that is how much she loved her school. Also when home she spent a lot of her time making 'I love you' notes for her teachers at school. This shows the kind of affection they get from the Teachers. It was difficult to find a school that I and my daughter would like so much as we always compared schools in IL with Sundance. It is not only the extracurricular activities that makes this school so good, academically also we saw a big difference between our kid and other kids her age from diffirent school. Jeff and Jinny have done a really good job, we all enjoy the Sundance songs that my daughter sings”
